Scope of Works - Removal and replacement of cantilevered ring beam cladding of north and south faces at the penthouse level.

The beams were originally lined with 6mm FC which had failed. The replacement product was Vitradual 3mm solid aluminium in an approved cassette system.

 

The photographs show the challenges presented to complete this high level rebuild (level 23!).

 

Task establishment required an engineered application and approach to scaffold access for the works.

 

Access logistics for high level mobile crane and scheduled lift availability for hoisting of materials was reviewed on a daily and sometimes hourly basis.

 

As the job progressed discovery of non compliant previous building outcomes had to be rectified. These activities included:

• Bead blasting of structural steel and rust preventative paint applications undertaken.

• Replacement of external party wall framing and lining, painting of same.

• Waterproofing at veranda slab/wall junctions.
